On Monday 11th of December we will be turning Jolene on Newington Green into an Alsatian winstub for one night only.
Visiting the region over the past few years, we have become enamoured with these old fashioned restaurants both in the beautiful city of Strasbourg and in the hills of the wine country, which offer Alsace’s robust cuisine alongside the wonderful wines made in the region.
On the night, the blackboard will reveal an à la carte menu full of Alsatian classics. There will be bretzels, flammekueche and spaetzle, a textbook tarte à l’oignon, truite aux amandes and of course, the region’s emblematic dish, choucroute garnie.
To wash it all down, we will be pouring our favourite Alsatian wines from a handful of the growers we are lucky enough to work with in the region, which will be available by both the glass and bottle.
