On Monday 13th of November, we welcome Beppe Ferrua of Fabbrica di Martino to Mountain for a special dinner celebrating his wines.
The Fabbrica di San Martino was founded in 1735 in the hills outside Lucca. A twenty hectare property immersed in woodland, its picturesque vineyards and olive groves sit within an area of great biological diversity. A pioneer of biodynamic farming in the region, in the farm’s tiny cantina Beppe does things the old fashioned way, producing pure, soulful wines which carry a wonderful sense of place.
Beppe is a gifted and intuitive cook so it comes as little surprise his wines make so much sense on the table. Much like at Mountain, the legendary dinners he hosts at his farmhouse revolve around the best ingredients of the season, cooked simply in the fireplace.
On the night, expect the likes of braised rabbit, wild ducks with quince, citrus salads, omelettes of winter truffle and wild mushrooms as well as aged jersey beef ribs from the grill and John Dory roasted on the plancha.
Beppe will be bringing along some of his incredible new season olive oil, some of the best we have tasted, which will feature throughout.
Alongside the à la carte menu, a selection of Beppe’s wines will be available by the glass and bottle and he will be on hand to run you through the story behind each.
Tables can be booked from 5pm to 9pm via Mountain’s website
Alternatively, there will be plenty of space at the counter for to join us for a glass and a snack if you wish to keep it casual.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be a great night.
