On Monday 10th of March we welcome legendary Jura vigneronne Alice Bouvot of Domaine de l’Octavin to London for the first time with a very special dinner at Brawn.
A pioneer of biodynamic farming in the Jura, Alice was one of the first of a new wave of producers offering a pure expression of its hills, and nowadays acts as a mentor to the next generation. Her work in the vines is legendary and in the cellar she adopts a refreshingly free approach that produces wines of boundless energy.
Brawn was one of the first restaurants in London to champion the Jura and have had a cellar full of Alice’s wines since the very beginning. The evening’s menu will celebrate both the region and the beautiful ingredients that are beginning to come into season. Think baked eggs with morels & wild garlic, white asparagus with cockles & vin jaune, a comforting soup of cabbage & Morteau sausage, braised veal & chanterelles, and Comté tart with endive & pickled walnuts.
We will be delving deep into the cellar to offer a large selection of Octavin’s iconic cuvées by both the glass and bottle, including a three vintage vertical of her rarely seen vin jaune, Cherubin.
Tables are available from 6 pm and can be booked via Brawn’s website
We hope you can join us for what promises to be a beautiful night.
