Beaujolais & Ladoix from Romuald Valot

As everyone seems to be talking about Beaujolais, we thought it time to release a beautiful collection of wines from one of the region’s very best, Romuald Valot.

An invitation for a tasting and dinner at Cosima and Romuald’s place hidden in the hills above Beaujeu is one of the highlights of the wine route and our visit in October of last year did not disappoint. These wines, all from last year’s harvest, were already showing immense potential, despite yields which saw them lose up to eighty percent on half the parcels in their ten hectares to frost and disease. Despite the year’s troubles, these are wines that are as luminous and energetic as any you’ll find in the Beaujolais.

Alongside his unbeatable Beaujolais-Villages, we are offering the crus of Brouilly, Chénas and Chiroubles, along with the sublime Pinot Noir he makes from vineyards in the village of Ladoix in his native Burgundy. For those planning some Beaujolais celebrations or who just happen to have a love for the curious, we also have a couple of whites from the region.

Romuald’s wines are now available on Tutto a Casa
