Ahead of her visit to London next week, it gives us great pleasure to share some new releases from talented Alsatian vigneronne, Anaïs Fanti.
Anaïs grew up in the village of Ammerschwihr in the region’s south, where her family has grown grapes for many years. Having fallen in love with wine all over again after spending time alongside growers in Georgia, Anaïs left her day job as a nurse to become the third generation to tend the family’s vines.
Anaïs farms one and a half hectares of vines spread across tiny parcels surrounding the village. She grows Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir and Auxerrois with a focus on biodynamics, seeking to obtain a diversity of life in the vineyards that is sometimes missing in Alsace, planting trees amongst the vines and letting wild grasses and flowers grow for much of the year.
These wines all come from the 2023 vintage, a cooler year which has produced the kind of lithe, fragrant wines that make so much sense in spring.
Next Monday 28th of April we will be hosting a dinner with Anaïs at Jolene in Newington Green, with an à la carte menu celebrating the best of spring’s bounty.
Tables are available from 5:30pm and can be booked via the restaurant’s website
Anaïs’s wines are now available on Tutto a Casa
