New from Christian Ducroux

These dark days of January call for soulful, uplifting wines that don’t cost a fortune, and our first release of the season comes from a master in Christian Ducroux.

A pioneer of regenerative farming in the Beaujolais, Christian’s work has been certified as organic since 1980 and biodynamic since 1985, long before such things were in vogue. Today he farms around six hectares of old vines in the village of Lantignié. They are planted over pink granite at a density of up to ten thousand plants per hectare, resulting in wines of depth and concentration, and face north at around four hundred metres above sea level, which lends freshness in a region that has felt the effects of climate change more than most.

A true paysan vigneron, Christian’s focus lies firstly with his land, which is treated with uncommon care and devotion, whilst a gentle hand in the cellar renders pure and nourishing wines which offer tremendous value and possess a wonderful capacity to age.

These wines both come from the 2023 vintage, a great year in Beaujolais which has produced luminous, joyful wines so suited to times like these.

Christian’s wines can now be found on Tutto a Casa
