As we edge closer towards the arrival of summer, we are thrilled to share two vibrant, sun-kissed Puglian reds from Cristiano Guttarolo.
Just outside the town of Gioia del Colle, Cristiano farms seven hectares of vineyards and olive trees planted around four hundred metres above sea level, over the rugged karst terrain of the Murge Plateau. It is a distinctive part of Puglia which produces wines that are thrillingly unique. Heady with wild, southern fruit, the limestone of the karst imparts a luminous quality, whilst the elevation allows them to retain a lightness so often missing in this part of the world.
These wines both come from last year’s harvest, a wonderful vintage that yielded bright, vibrant wines that are just perfect for barbecue season. Whether you are channelling the fornelli of Cisternino or the ockabasi of Dalston, we can think of few things we’d rather drink alongside whatever is coming off the grill.
Cristiano’s wines are now available on Tutto a Casa
