Such is the scope of Alice Bouvot’s négociant project, it is easy to forget that the core of her work remains the singular, vivid expressions of native varieties from her own vineyards in the Jura.
A native of the region, when Alice began growing grapes in the mid-2000s, she pioneered a new wave of biodynamic farming and radical no-sulphur winemaking in the hills surrounding Arbois. Today she farms around five hectares of vines in lieu-dits such as En Curon, La Mailloche, Les Nouvelles and Les Corvées and is a mentor and friend to many in the town’s thriving wine community.
Over close to two decades, Alice has garnered a reputation for producing highly original, thought-provoking wines that show grapes and regions in a different guise. When they are on, few wines are as energetic as Alice’s and it gives us great pleasure to share a whole suite of wines from her home vineyards with you.
These include a new vintage of P’tit Poussot, the long-awaited return of her iconic Chardonnay, Pamina, the latest iteration of a rare maceration that will be familiar to those who follow her work closely and a brace of light, bright and vibrant Jura reds.
For those who are interested, you can read a little more about Alice’s journey in this interview from back in 2021.
