As autumn has well and truly arrived, it feels fitting to share two wonderful wines from Mâcon-based vigneronne Maryse Chatelin of Domaine des Fauvettes.
Maryse is based in the village of Uchizy and shares a cellar and home with her husband Alexandre Jouveaux. For a little over a decade she has been growing Pinot Noir in a secluded spot in the woods above the village and she also tends a tiny parcel of old-vines Chardonnay in the nearby commune of Viré-Clessé, from which she makes a rare bottling named L’Embellie. After a couple of years of rest in the cellar, we are excited to share this for the first time.
Alongside, we have the 2022 vintage of De l’Aube à l’Aube – a dark, brooding Pinot Noir that is very much suited to the game, mushrooms and more robust cooking we will be enjoying over the coming months. There are a handful of magnums for those entertaining a crowd, or who wish to lay them down for the long haul.
Maryse’s wines are now available on Tutto a Casa
