New from Lamoresca

Over the years, few things have become quite as synonymous with summer as the Sicilian wines of Lamoresca.

Filippo Rizzo’s farm lies amongst the rolling hills of the island’s rugged interior, around an hour’s drive southwest of Catania. Just outside the tiny village of San Michele di Ganzaria, the family farms a total of five hectares of vines planted over clay, sandstone and silex, amongst twenty five hectares of olive groves, prickly pear, fruit and almond trees, over four hundred metres above sea level.

The elevation results in large differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures – a boon in this typically Mediterranean climate, which, coupled with sensitive farming and a no nonsense approach in the cantina, produces pure, nourishing wines that speak loudly of their island home.

Filippo’s wines are now available on Tutto a Casa
