To start the year right, we are giving our loyal customers the chance to purchase a bottle of the last ever vintage of Maison Maenad’s sublime Jura Chardonnay, De l’Avant.
Having worked for several years alongside the legendary Jean-François Ganevat, in just a handful of vintages, Katie Worobeck has established herself as one of the region’s rising stars.
This wine comes from old vines planted over red clay and limestone in the lieu-dit of Les Varrons, one of the great terroirs in the Sud Revermont. Katie’s is a thoughtful and original interpretation of this wonderful site and here the warm, dry vintage of 2022 has produced a dense, layered and powerful wine that will no doubt age beautifully over the coming years.
Sadly, this will be the last ever bottling of this wonderful cuvée, as Katie turns her attention to caring for her vines in Au Carre–a secluded, four hectare parcel high in the hills of Grusse. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this most talented of growers but in the meantime, we hope you enjoy this wonderful wine.
