We are excited to share a beautiful expression of Trousseau from one of the Jura’s brightest young talents, Morgane Turlier.
Morgane farms a hectare of old vines of Chardonnay, Savagnin and Trousseau planted over a mix of limestone and marl in the commune of Marnoz and further afield in Salins-les-Bains.
Working several days a week for Etienne Thiebaud of Domaine des Cavarodes, Morgane has a sensitive approach to farming. The vines are worked by horse and treated with nothing more than a little copper, sulphur and herbal teas. In the cellar she adds nothing and takes nothing away, producing delicate, pure wines with a beautiful sense of place.
The 2019 vintage was a particularly harsh one for Morgane, with frost destroying nearly all of her fruit early in the growing season, before she’d really got started. When we visited to taste in her tiny cellar last February we were saddened to find even less wine than usual, though this pure, vibrant Trousseau is amongst the most beautiful wines we have tried from this talented young vigneronne.
Morgane’s Pangea 2019 is available exclusively on Tutto a Casa with a limit of one bottle per customer.
