This vibrant Pinot Noir is a blend of two parcels. One of thirty five year old vines planted over blue shale, and another of forty five year old vines planted over volcanic sandstone. Each was fermented on the skins as whole bunches for around three weeks, before a year of élevage in old casks of various sizes. Lifted and perfumed, its delicate frame offers a riot of tart red berries, earth and spice. A wine with a real sense of place, that has become an instant classic in one of our favourite regions for the grape.
