Fleurie O Bella Ciao

2017

Julie’s vines in Fleurie comprise three hectares of vines up to 100 years old planted on a seriously steep slope. Hidden away high in the hills, surrounded by woodland, the soils are a complex mix of basalt, pink granite and quartz and when the year allows it, Julie likes to bottle three different wines from the site; Simone, Cayenne and En Remont. In 2017, we get a bottle with all three and the result is a deep, complex and layered Fleurie that blends fruit and flowers with an intense, stony minerality. Delicious now, this will age with aplomb.
