Carso, Friuli Venezia Giulia



Malvasia Istriana from this wonderful plateau of limestone they call the Carso. A blend of various plots up to fifty years old, all within a few minutes walk of Matej’s home. This spends a month on skins with no pigeage, before being pressed off to old barrels to rest for a couple of years. This is a subtle, almost ethereal Malvasia with just hints of citrus and spice and a brininess that tells us the Adriatic is just a few kilometres away.
