San Michele di Ganzaria, Sicilia



An 80:20 blend of Nerello Mascalese with a little Frappato planted over clay and limestone 430 metres above sea level. It spent a fortnight on skins in plastic vats, before being pressed off to concrete tanks for a year. A beautiful expression of Sicily, with a complex nose of dark fruits, herbs and wildflowers and the compact, pretty little tannins that the hallmark of the Nerello grape.
