San Michele di Ganzaria, Sicilia



A blend of Nerello Mascalese with a little Frappato planted over clay and limestone 430 metres above sea level. It spends about three weeks on skins in plastic vats, before being pressed off to concrete tanks for a year. A beautiful expression of Sicily, with a complex nose of little red fruits, herbs and wildflowers and the compact, pretty little tannins that is  the hallmark of the very best Nerello.
