Marsala, Sicilia

Nero d’Avola from young vines planted over sandy soils. The grapes are picked early, meaning the acid is high and alcohol low. It spent just a night on skins and rested in concrete until April, when it was bottled without any additions. A pale shade of pink, it draws you in with seaside scents of salt, citrus and brine, and screams for some sunshine and sardines on the grill.
