Aleatico from a fifty year old vineyard, planted some five hundred metres above sea level. After a short rest in the press, the grapes were pressed directly to vats for fermentation, before ten months of élevage in old barrels. Reflecting this once in a lifetime vintage, this is a little darker and deeper than previous years, drawing you in with exotic scents of rose and smoke, whilst the palate offers a gorgeous blood orange bitterness, flesh and grip. As impressive as ever, it remains one of the great rosé wines.
