A special cuvée which was last made in 2009, made from a painstaking selection of the very best bunches from their oldest vines of Sangiovese’s ancient clone, Greghetto Rosso. The grapes were macerated for around a month, before being pressed to old barrels for three years and a long rest in bottle before release. This is perhaps the best example of the grape we have tried from Le Coste–a wine of great structure and real complexity that offers layers of fruit, earth and minerals which reveal themselves slowly over time.
