This wonderful Sangiovese comes from a selection of the best grapes from old bush vines in their ‘La Chiesa’ vineyard, along with some Greghetto from their oldest vines. The grapes were destemmed and the wine was fermented on the skins in tini for one month, before being pressed off to large old casks for two years of rest. From a warm, dry year, this is a little more grown-up and broad-shouldered than usual, with firm tannins framing complex notes of red cherry, earth and spice.
