Like most growers in the region, five years ago Marino used to leave the grapes from his final green harvest in the vineyard for the birds, but that’s not his style. This is Sangiovese from Marino’s Brunello vineyards planted over limestone, sand and volcanic rock, picked around a month earlier than usual. It is given a direct press to stainless steel and is bottled a year later, unfiltered with no additions. This is a wine with low alcohol and mouthwatering acidity that really gets the juices going for aperitif.
