This fascinating expression of Gewürztraminer comes from a late harvest of grapes grown by the Bannwarth family in Obermorschwihr. The grapes were picked with botrytis and pressed to cuve to ferment over winter, before being moved to old barrels for three and half years of ageing without topping up. The result is a curiously delicate expression of the variety, which offers notes of citrus, sea salt and rose.
