Marino’s vineyards are amongst the highest in Montalcino, planted over a combination of sand, limestone and volcanic rock. The fruit for Marino’s Riserva comes from a very strict selection made in the vineyard. Here the grapes were destemmed and macerated for a month before five years of rest in old botti. Marino has navigated this uncommonly warm, dry vintage wonderfully, producing a deep, soulful wine of breathtaking power and poise that will reward drinkers for many years to come.
